In 1994 Del Mar brought the funk to Fridays with free concerts. Over the years the free Summer Concert Series has attracted the likes of Cake, Weezer, ZZ Top, Billy Idol, Devo, Gnarls Barkley, Ziggy Marley, Matisyahu, Violent Femmes and Jason Mraz, but in 2001 a singer/songwriter/surfer named Jack Johnson put Del Mar on the musical map (or was it the other way around)?

Racing fans will return to the improved Seaside Stage, located at the west end of the Grandstand with the Pacific Ocean as a backdrop and better access to concer-goer services and amenities. Catch shows held every Friday, select Saturdays and Sundays from July 17 through September 4. Del Mar’s concerts are FREE with racetrack admission purchased prior to the last race, an exceptional value as admission starts at just $3 for Diamond Club members (free to sign up) and $6 without Diamond Club membership.Admission for concert-goers entering after the final race is $20.
All 12 performances of the Del Mar Summer Concert Series are free for fans attending the races. The Seaside Stage is a non-smoking venue. For Friday shows, as is the case with attending the races, patrons under 18-years of age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Our Saturday shows are 18-years of age and up ONLY. The Del Mar Seaside Stage is a Festival venue with standing room only so get here early. No reserved seats, standing room only so get here early. Concert starts after the races.
