Here’s a look at some key #’s associated with getting the Del Mar Racetrack ready to run on Opening Day, July 22, 2009.

 

1,000 Laborers, comprising of 8 Foreman for 8 crews (plumbers, electricians, painters, carpenters, Teamsters, laborers, gardeners and mechanics)

 

1,500 to 2,000 gallons of paint used to repaint the facility

18- to 20,000 new flowers, plants, bushes and shrubs

2,200 stalls prepared

3,500 tons of sand set down on the stable area roadways

4,400 bales of hay brought in

2,000 thoroughbred brought in

6 Goats in the backside barns

$9-million Polytrack racing strip on the track.
