Dashboard Confessional’s lyrics delve deep into the hearts of its listeners. By giving the truth a melody, lead singer Chris Carrabba makes a loyal connection with his fans that most artists strive for throughout their careers. Carrabba’s albums tug at the hearts of misunderstood, soul-searching fans who look to Carrabba’s own experience as a means of guidance and coping. After their first successful debut albums, this acoustic, rock, and indie band recorded an installment for MTV Unplugged 2.0 in 2002, further garnering America's attention. Dashboard Confessional reached the ears of an even broader audience in 2004 by contributing to the ending credits song, “Vindicated,” from Spiderman 2. “Vindicated” reached number two on the Billboard Charts and gained a sizeable audience for the band. In 2006 Dashboard Confessional collaborated with producers Daniel Lanois and Don Gilmore (whom have also worked with artists like Pearl Jam, Lincoln Park, and U2) to produce the album “Dusk and Summer.” Dashboard Confessional promoted this new album on a nationwide tour alongside Ben Lee, Say Anything, and Brand New. With Chris Carrabba’s modelesque charm and the bands overall ability to woo any audience, Dashboard Confessional is a natural success in today’s diverse mainstream music scene.
